A Message from our Curate
Hello, I’m Joe Lannon and I’m looking forward to working as a Curate in the Parishes of Holbeton, Noss & Newton Ferrers (a Curate is kind of a trainee Vicar). I’m looking forward to working under the supervision of Revd Anne Legge. In the past I have been a research Engineer, Teacher and, for 12 years before my Ordination, I worked as a full-time guitar teacher and examiner for London College of Music. I’ve loved teaching and playing acoustic, electric and bass guitar over the years as well as being in a couple of bands. I’m joined by my wife Nikki and our son Mackenzie. Nikki previously worked as the Church Administrator in Torquay. She is very creative and loves drawing and singing. Together we’ve led an open mic and performed as a duo called Sweet JoNi. She is really dedicated to her children and loves nothing more than having her family all around her. Mackenzie who is 13 is just finishing his second year at Churston Grammar School. He is sports mad and is particularly fond of football. He was the under twelve goalkeeper for Torquay United and it’s not easy scoring a goal when he’s around! He is a real outside boy and so you may well see him out playing out football. As well as Mackenzie, we have between us four other grown up children and a grandson who is nearly three and keeps us young with all his boundless energy.
